Interview with the amazing Caking and Baking
1. What go you into to baking?
I got into baking really because I don't sleep! I'm usually up most of the night and baking gave me something productive to do with my time
2. How long have you had your company for?
I've been baking professionally (i.e. taking money) for 3 years
3. What inspired you to start your own business?
I registered and started my business because lots of people were asking for my cakes and I couldn't afford to keep doing them for free!
4. What if you favourite cake to eat and why?
My favourite cake to eat is more of a bun, something fruity & a little mixed spice like a Belgium bun or Chelsea bun
5. What is your favourite flavour of cake to make and why?
My favourite flavour to make is my sweet sticky caramel cupcakes
6. Do you have any other hobbies apart from baking?
When I'm not baking I like to spend time with my family or at the gym
7. What do you think are the positives and negatives of baking/your own business?
The positives are I can pick and choose my work and my hours, I like not having anyone to answer to ... The negatives it's quite lonely at times and there is a lot of pressure as no one can share the workload
8. What is your favourite occasion cake to make and why?
I love modelling so novelty cakes are my favourite
9. Did you enjoy baking when you was younger?
 I've always liked creating in the kitchen
10. Do you have any favourite baker's at the moment?
Peggy Porschen is my favourite baker 11. I find baking relaxing if it's for fun (not an order)

I find baking relaxing if it's for fun (not an order)
12. If you was trap on island and could only take three thing what would they be and why?
 My 3 island things .... Hmmmm my iPad (so I can Pinterest!) a huge supply of Prosecco and my family 
13. What do you find most challenging about being a baker?
The most challenging thing is the mess, someone has to do the washing up, clean up the icing sugar storm and sweep the fondant & crumbs and when you finish at 4.30am it's an even tougher job to do! 
14. How do you keep organized while baking? How do you keep a schedule for what needs done?
To keep organised I have a large wall planner every cake gets 3 days as standard blocked out .. Day 1 bake cake & let rest, any models or flowers done. Day 2 ice cake leave to crust & finish models. Day 3 complete cake and deliver. More detailed cakes or designs take longer simpler designs shorter 
15. What is you most popular design of cake you sell?
Erm not sure I have a most popular design as such but people come to me when they want a detailed personalised model cake
