How To Make The Ultimate Chocolate Cake

Hey guy’s hope your all having a good week so far, It’s been awhile since I have done a baking post and I fancied on the day off work to make the ultimate chocolate cake because I just love my chocolate and I’m sure many of you do as well and having chocolate and cake mixed together is even better. So I wanted to share with you how I made this cake and everything you need to make it.

12oz Caster Sugar
12oz Unsalted Butter
12oz Self-rising Flour
6 large eggs
3 tbsp coco powder
3 boxes of chocolate fingers (Your choice)
1 bag of Rolos
White Chocolate
Milk Chocolate
Chocolate Frosting
Toffee Sauce
Step One – In a large bowl mix together your caster sugar and unsalted butter until light and creamy and should look a light while colour. Once it’s all combined then add your eggs one by one and mix together until combined.
Step Two - In another large bowl mix together your self-rising flour and your coco powder. Slowly add your dry mixture to your wet mixture and mix together slowly in a folding motion, once all your mixture in combined well it’s time to get your tin ready.
Step Three – Line your tin with grease proof paper to butter and pour in your mixture if you want to separate sponged then add half your mixture first and bake at 160’c for 30 minutes, You will know when its cook when your poke your cake with a knife and the knife comes out clean.   
Step Four – While your cakes are cooling it’s time to melt your white and milk chocolate in to different bowls (You don’t need a lot). While it’s melting lay out your chocolate fingers on some grease proof paper, when you’re chocolate is melted pour into a piping bag and cut of a small hole at the bottom and pour your chocolate over your fingers to add the effect. Once you’re happy with the amount you have put on place in the fridge to set.
Step Five – Now that your cakes are cool it’s time to add the filling, Add half of your chocolate frosting and spread out evenly across the cake. Once finished pour on some toffee sauce and if you have any spare melted chocolate pour that over the chocolate frosting then place you second sponge on top.
Step Six - Cover the sides of your cake with some chocolate frosting to stick on your chocolate fingers, One by one carefully place your chocolate fingers around the cake until covered.
Step Seven - In a piping bag add the rest of your chocolate frosting and pipe your design over the top of your cake I used a rose tip to get the flower effect. Once you’re happy with your design, Grab you rolo’s and add them on the top in a nice pile in the middle of the cake. Once you’re happy then add some more toffee sauce over the top.
