So as you can see by the title I'm going to tell you about my birthday weekend away in London yes LONDON! So I turned 26 on the 24th of May (4 years till im 30 *crying*) and my boyfriend surprised me with a weekend in London. I have been wanting to go to London for so long but never had the chance or the time, but that wasn't the only surprise he gave me.

After opening my gifts from family and friends Joey gave me a huge card with train tickets, Madam Tussauds tickets, Sealife Centre tickets and tickets to see WICKED THE MUSICAL! I have been wanting to see Wicked my whole life and I was so happy that I was finally going to be able to see the one musical I have been dieing to see for so long. It came to the morning but I was never told I had to be up at 4am to get the train at 5:20am so I wasn't a happy bunny that early in the morning.

When we finally arrived in London we checked into our hotel and headed down to Madame Tussauds to see the amazing wax works but I was more excited to see Zoella and Alfie's wax works as I knew she had one from her vlog. I loved every moment, seeing all the different faces and even being a judge on The Voice, it was so much fun. After we finished our tour of the wax works we had a wander around London, we saw Big Ben and London Eye which Joey loved as hes been wanting to see London too. I know he loved seeing all the sites as much as I did. After a few hours we headed back to the hotel to have a rest before our nighttime viewing of Wicked!!

It soon came to around 5pm so we got ready and headed out to have some dinner. We ended up going to a place called Giraffe, which was a nice place to eat, so if you go to London go and check them out. After our food we headed to the Apollo Theatre where Wicked was in big green lights with a huge sign outside, I was so excited! Of course I had to buy some goodies before the show so I got a hoodie, t-shirt, mug and program (to add to my collection) then we found our seats. The seats were amazing and overall the musical was fantastic, I loved every moment and every song, the whole story was breath taking I want to watch it all over again. I give the show a HUGE 100% I would definitely go and see it again I really didn't want it to end.

When it came to the second day I woke up upset knowing that I would be going home that evening and heading back to work the next day (the joys of being an adult). But we woke up, had a breakfast then got everything packed and ready for our departure later that evening. Prior to leaving though, it was time for my last little adventure to the Sea Life Centre, I know we all love going there every once in a while don't we? Seeing all the different types of fish was unbelievable it's bigger than the Birmingham centre too. The exhibit I loved seeing the most was the penguins, I just love them! The room was ice cold and it really looks like you are in a snow covered room with all the fake snow, icicles and the huge penguins. The penguins were so cute jumping in and out of the water, just enjoying themselves. What I found funny is that when I was recording one of the boy penguins came walking up to my screen and just stood there and didn't move until I moved, he really wanted to be in my video!

Once we finished at the Sea Life Centre Joey wanted to go and see Buckingham Palace so we headed down there but of course before all of that we went to Oxford Street. Im sure you know why, YES SHOPPING! I wanted to go and see the Lush shop for myself because I heard some many good things about it and I could see why when I got there AND of course I came back with a few goodies, ones that they dont even sell in my local store! So yes I am stocked up again for another month or two. After we finished in Lush I went into the Disney shop, but I must say I was disappointed with the store. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be and there was more baby stuff than normal but I still came out with a Chip Cup (because you know everyone wants one) so I guess that wasn't too bad.

When we got to Buckingham Palace I could tell Joey liked it because I knew he had been wanting to see it for awhile so of course we had to get some photos so he could show his family back home. As we went closer to the Palace we saw that the Queen's guards weren't out, you know the ones with the big tall black hats, I'm not sure why but it was a shame. The palace still looked beautiful no matter. There were so many people around that day, we got as close as we possibly could so that Joey could have a good view.

I had such an amazing weekend that I didn't want it to end, the weather was beautiful, all the sites were amazing, and I fell in love with Wicked even more now. I just want to say Thank you so much to my partner Joey for treating me to this amazing getaway, I loved every moment of it and I hope you enjoyed it too. I wish we could go back and do it all again, I'm sure we all go back again very soon.

So tell me have you been to visit London recently?

Until next time

  1. sounds like you had a great time! I lived in London for a year and still feel like I didn't explore it all! xx

  2. What a fab weekend! Aquariums are some of my favourite places.
I also like Giraffe; I think they offer a really good range of food from different places and the atmosphere/decor is good.

  3. Pretty pics! Great post :)

  5. Belated Happy Birthday!! That sounds like so much fun. I was going to go to London next month as a late birthday thing but I couldn't afford it in the end so I'm very jealous.

  6. That penguin is adorable, it's the one that loves the attention. When I went there it followed us the whole way round and looked like it was dancing (probs thinking it was a penguin out of the film Happy Feet haha!)
